Shadi Mehraein Prior to co-founding Rivet Ventures, Shadi was with Focus Ventures, a leading expansion-stage venture fund with over $830 million in commitments. She was responsible for sourcing diverse investment opportunities including Marin Software (IPO) and was involved in other investments such as PCH International, BookRenter, and DeliveryAgent. Prior to Focus, Shadi was with Bessemer Venture Partners, a multi-stage venture fund with over $4B in commitments. At BVP, Shadi helped guide the firm's investment in Intacct Software and was also actively involved in researching and framing investment strategies for sectors such as e-commerce, SaaS, gaming, and digital media. Shadi began her investment career as an analyst at CIBC/ Oppenheimer's Corporate Finance - Technology Investment Banking group. Shadi has a BA in Economics from Stanford University where she was a member of the NCAA Division 1 Sailing Team. Shadi loves the outdoors - anything from surfing to skiing; just don't put her on a mountain bike. Adores dogs, in particular huskies. Rebeca Hwang Prior to co-founding Rivet Ventures, Rebeca Hwang co-founded YouNoodle, Cleantech Open, and Startup Nations Summit. Rebeca was educated at MIT and Stanford and has been recognized as a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, and as one of the top 35 under 35 Global Innovators by MIT Tech Review. Rebeca also serves on the Global Board of Kauffman's GEN and the WEF's Global Council on the Future of Migrations. She teaches Technology Entrepreneurship at Stanford University and is an inventor holding multiple patents. Rebeca was born in Seoul, raised in Argentina and educated in the US, and has worked closely with several countries on their national startup programs, including Malaysia, South Korea, Spain, Iceland, Chile and Mexico, where she is a member of the Access to Capital committee of the Mexico-U.S. Entrepreneurship and Innovation Council. Recently listed by Forbes as one of their 20 inspiring young female founders to follow on Twitter and is a frequent speaker at global conferences on entrepreneurship and women leadership. Rebeca loves traveling and culinary experiments. Before becoming the mother of a very opinionated toddler, she used to enjoy hiking, boxing, playing rugby, dancing and sailing. Christina A. Brodbeck Prior to co-founding Rivet Ventures, Christina A. Brodbeck was a founding team member at YouTube, where she was the company's first UI Designer. While at YouTube, she was the lead designer for YouTube Mobile. Christina, a passionate advocate for innovation in education, launched YouTube EDU/Education as her (20% time) side project. Before YouTube, Christina worked at MRL Ventures, NASA, and Keynote Systems. Most recently, Christina co-founded TheIceBreak, a service that helps committed couples grow in their relationships. She is a seasoned angel investor with investments in approximately 20 companies, and has mentored at various places including 500 Startups and The Designer Fund. Some angel investments include: Cue (acquired by Apple), Matterport, inDinero, and Imgix. She speaks globally on women in technology, design, investing, and entrepreneurship. She is originally from the Chicagoland area, has a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in (Russian) history, and holds a master's degree in Instructional Multimedia Design and Technologies from San Francisco State University. Christina loves sunshine, hot weather, being outdoors, travel, swimming, the Chicago Cubs, dark comedy, photography, Russian literature, and wandering around aimlessly without a desired destination in mind. Stephanie Tilenius Stephanie Tilenius is the Founder and CEO of Vida Health, a next-generation mobile continuous care platform for preventive health and chronic health conditions deployed at Fortune 500 companies, large national payers and providers. Prior to starting Vida, Stephanie was with Kleiner Perkins Canfield & Byers, where she worked primarily with late-stage KPCB portfolio companies, with an emphasis on companies in the Digital Growth Fund. While at Kleiner, Stephanie invested in Nextdoor and MyFitnessPal. Prior to Kleiner, Stephanie was at Google, where she was vice president of global commerce and payments, helping build and launch new products and platforms including Google Wallet, Google Shopping and Google Express. Prior to joining Google, she was at eBay and PayPal for nine years, and in her last role was SVP of eBay.com and global product where she helped lead the eBay Marketplace turnaround. Prior to eBay, Stephanie was VP of Merchant Services at PayPal where she built the off-eBay PayPal business from the ground up into a multi-billion business. A co-founder of PlanetRx.com, she has also worked at Intel, AOL and Firefly. Stephanie sits on the public boards of Coach Inc. and Seagate Technology.
